Frocking Hilarious

I'm very lucky to support ActionAid Australia this year. I have donated two gifts to Frocking Hilarious on Wednesday, 10 May 2023 07:00 PM. My donations are:

ActionAid’s comedy gala is returning to The Factory Theatre, Marrickville. That’s not very far from my home. It will be a great night out for myself and some good friends.

I hope that my donations will bring a smile to two lucky winners at the event. It’s a small donation but every little bit helps.

What does Action Aid Australia do for women around the world?

ActionAid Australia empowers women on the frontlines of crisis to claim their rights. Women need to be heard. They need resources and access to international platforms to make their needs heard as they support themselves and their families.

ActionAid Australia is a registered charity working in 17 countries with 27 programs to create meaningful change for women.

Emergency Aid in Ukraine

In Ukraine, ActionAid is helping women and families affected by the war. Families are leaving behind their loved ones, possessions and life. ActonAid has partnered with Insight to help marginalised groups affected by the war. Over 14,000 displaced families have received humanitarian packages.

Empowering women in Kenya

Mary from Kenya has received help from ActionAid Australia. Mary suffered abuse by her husband. She joined a farmer’s group supported by ActionAid Australia and learned valuable farming techniques to support her family. As a result, she has grown her skills and cash. Mary is now a leader in Kitos farming group. She has successfully lobbied the Kenyan government to do more for their community.

Vanuatu women breaking new ground

The Pacific islands have more empowering stories for women. In Vanuatu, women of the ‘Women I Tok Tok Tugeta’ network have launched Mama’s Poultry farm. Economic empowerment has made a great impact on these women in Vanuatu. They have realised their dream and can support themselves and their families by developing and creating business.

These are some of the stories of hope and of impact. What a great way to support women in our World and enjoy a great night out.
